We’ve got some new photos up taken from the open jam session that we hosted at the Waterloo Jazz Festival last Saturday. We had a great time that day and got to play with a whole bunch of fantastic young up and comers in the city! A big thanks to Gee-Wong for taking these!
That’s right, hot off the heels of the Toronto Jazz Festival, in a few short weeks we’ll be on the road for a bunch of out of town dates. We’re really excited to get outside the city limits again and we hope to see a bunch of you there! We’ll be playing a whole lot of the material that will be coming out in October in our upcoming album, so it’s going to be a whole lot of fun! The full schedule is listed below:
July 17th – Snaggle Live at Homegrown with Izoktron
27 King William St, Hamilton, ON 8:00pm
Big show coming up! On June 28th we’re playing at Mây as part of the Toronto Jazz Festival and to sweeten the deal, our longtime producer and trumpet player extraordinaire Brownman Ali will be our special guest!
SNAGGLE with special guest Brownman Ali
876 Dundas St West,
Show starts at 8:00pm
On June 28th Snaggle’s brash sound will once again be joined by acclaimed trumpet player Brownman Ali. Snaggle is a 6 piece electric-jazz ensemble that takes influences from Snarky Puppy, Miles Davis and everything in between. This ensemble juxtaposes gentle melodies with hard funk and ties it all together with some creative and exciting improvisation. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Brown (his full bio’s below) — he is an incredibly accomplished trumpet player, musician & composer and when he’s not touring the world with the titans of the music industry (Jay-z, Paul Simon, Dave Matthews Band to name only a few) he’s got some killer projects on the go including our favorite – the BROWNMAN ELECTRYC TRIO. So make sure you don’t miss it, 8:00pm, $10 cover!
Snaggle is back for another show jam packed with their own high-octane brand of hard funk! The boys have been hard at work on their upcoming album in the last month or so and are raring to hit the stage for some live action!
The Emmet Ray
June 5th – 8:30
924 College St
This Saturday our band leader Nick Maclean pays tribute to one of the greatest piano players in jazz history! They’re taking a look at some early Herbie, his Blue note years and then digging into some of the electric stuff from the Mwandishi albums and his Headhunter years! If you want to get on the advance list (tickets are $5 cheaper!) make sure you email firstname.lastname@example.org!
